Department of Biomedical Informatics Collaboration from Oct 2005 --

The following is an outline of the projects for the Department of Biomedical Informatics performed by Qingxia (Cindy) Chen, PhD

* Star Panel Study (paper submited)

  • Investigators: Dr. Kevin Johnson, David Allan
  • completed project: A survey to study the physician satisfaction on the Star Panel system an electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Specific services:
    • performed the desciptive analysis, computed the Cronbach's Alpha to measure the agreement of the itemized questionair
    • Missing data problem
    • performed all the analysis and explained the results
    • assist on writing manuscript

* Study of High Tech Enviroment in Graduate Medical Education (on-going)

  • Investigators: Dr. Kevin Johnson, Davin Wilson
  • Current project: A survey to study how being trained in Vanderbilt high tech environment and then going to a lower tech place impacts perceptions of skills, knowledge, efficiency and safety
  • Specific services:
    • perform the desciptive analysis, compute the Cronbach's Alpha to measure the agreement of the itemized questionair
    • determine appropriate methods, and perform all analysis
    • will assist with writing subsequent manuscript(s)

* Pneumococcal Vaccination Study (paper submited)

  • Investigators: Dr. Dominik Aronsky, Judith Dexheimer
  • Current project: A survey to study emergency department providers' beliefs, attitutes, and behaviors
  • Specific services:
    • perform the desciptive analysis
    • exploratory analysis
    • help identify scientific question
    • determine appropriate methods, and perform all analysis
    • assist on writing manuscript
