Listening Behavior, Personalization and Right targeting

Pandora Media, Inc is an Internet radio that serves music based on listener music preference prediction. While Pandora One is the fee-based subscription service, the free subscription service is supported by advertisement. Behavioral Targeting is based on the users’ site activities and their demographic profile and it helps the advertisers to deliver ads more effectively. With the listening behaviors within Pandora and third party data, we are trying to understand the user preference and help the advertisers to target their audience. In this talk, I will discuss challenges in the behavioral targeting and how Pandora leverages the data to find out the right targeting group for the advertisers.
