Research
My research interest generally involve correlated and longitudinal data analysis in epidemiological and hospital settings. While there are a number of challenges faced when analyzing data in these settings, I am particularly interested in planned and unplanned selection of patients and / or times at which patients are observed. Towards planned selection, I am involved in the development of efficient outcome dependent sampling designs for longitudinal data when sub-sampling from existing cohort studies or when sampling directly from populations. These designs are particularly useful when exposure ascertainment costs are high (e.g., in studies that examine gene or biomarker by environment interactions) or when response data exhibit little variation. Unplanned selection is ubiquitous in longitudinal data, and my primary focus has been on selection based on response history. For example, in a longitudinal study, prior response values may influence dropout, missing data, intensity of observations, treatment course, etc.
